An app concept focusing on the user's experience focusing on mixing up the way you order coffee in a modern café environment. This self initiated project was essentially to teach myself how to use Adobe XD (Sketch is great, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to know my way around another program) and start a project of my own, with complete freedom, including everything from the colour palette, iconography and the UI/UX design...
Once happy with a the logo favicon, I set out to develop a number of icons. They are representative of products, equipment and even signage you would find in a typical coffee shop and match the logo in line weight & style.
Once the colour palette, typography, logo and iconography was all settled I moved on to the key repeatable elements needed to start building out the app. This included key set of icons displaying a highly recognisable "hamburger" style menu, a location icon, a home icon, track & an account icon. I also wanted to make all the fold-out menus really "pop" up against the rest of the muted palette while highlighting the active tab with a blue circle.
After finishing the design of the app, I started prototyping which was actually a very useful step. I realised that I had not thought through the roadmap as well as I could have done. In some cases it was just simple things like there not being an obvious enough call to action and then there were whole missing pages! The whole prototyping process has really made me want to dig deeper into what Adobe XD is really capable of!
